Acid With No Powers by TastesLikeAnya Acid With No Powers by TastesLikeAnya
Though I am about 80% through the animation, I hadn't quite finished designing Acid Panther, haha.

This got way too elaborate too fast, as through all my animation, I've improved tenfold at drawing her. I wish I had this design when I started animating.

Definitely some Jemma Salume inspiration in here.

Oh yeah, forgot to say this time. It's the one I always use - coloured plaster from cgtextures.com, I really dull orange variant.

nice design. very adequately feline in spite of some of your comments to the contrary. maybe not exactly pantherish..they tend to be heavier... but along the lines of a cheetah build, or a oriental housecat.

Yeah, Acid is definitely not very Leopard like in her structure. If I put spots on her she'd just be a Cheetah, I think.

I like the pointy edges on the design as well as the slim and muscular body though I think she would look better with a bit more of a graceful form. You know, felines have those graceful and elegant lines from millions of years of evolution.

Perhaps, Though I am not against drawing Acid with more of a jolty figure as it fits her character.

That is truth. You can see it from her face that she is not your everyday feline.

Maybe making the line of the spine soft and curvy like you did on the last pic, the one of the jungle. That line reminds you to a cat jumping.

Making the spine curvy and but the rest jagged sounds like a cool idea. It's a shame I'm too far into production to change her model.
The pic of Acid in the jungle was just for fun, hence why she was more curved and less jaggedly stylized.

The good thing about art is that its always changing. I bet the final work will be awesome and maybe in a future you will add more changes. (:

To the favorites bin! I have a weakness for cool cats. X)

I'm picking up a bit of Chat Noir as well. Of course, all black cats with yellow eyes have that, but it's fun to picture Acid Panther in the pose.

No! Don't be Disney!!! Never be afraid to evolve a concept or design. But either one looks good yo'.

And no, your style is not Disney. ;) Just don't get their "THIS DESIGN MUST NEVER CHANGE" mentality.

I changed my mind anyway. I don't think it would be 'being Disney' so much as I like things to be consistent.

I'm just poking fun at Disney's fear of changing "canon" designs. Because it's already been "decided as finale." :D But there's some sick shit done with Mickey when talented artists get a hold of him. Especially the Japanese.

My point was, "don't be afraid to change a design despite how good a current one works." But I do see what you mean, and why break a good thing? But I guess you could always do some noncanon works on the side. ;)

Oh, I wouldn't be afraid. My original thought was that I wanted Acid to have a solid design, more of a franchised thing than anything else. But I'd rather not make it a franchise anyway, so if I were to do a sequel, I'd probably design things as I would with my future skill level.

Change would come, like it or not :P. Look how the Simpsons have changed over the years. Look at Garfield. Look at Peanuts.

You are not a robot.

But I strive to replicate the perfection of a robot.

The more I've thought about it though, the more I think if I did a sequel, (extremely far in the future,) I'd change the designs to fit my skill level so it could be an example of what I can do.
